Guardian Marine Rescue Launches Sponsor a Searcher Program
Guardian Marine Rescue has officially launched the public phase of its new Sponsor a Searcher Program, part of the organization’s Operational Readiness Sponsorship Program.
The program is designed to help equip Guardian Marine Rescue volunteer crew members with the personal operational gear they use during training, emergency response, and marine search and rescue operations.
As a volunteer marine search and rescue organization serving Lake Erie, the Detroit River, and Lake St. Clair, Guardian Marine Rescue relies on community support to help maintain operational readiness and ensure crew members are prepared when called upon.

The Sponsor a Searcher Program gives individuals, businesses, service clubs, and community organizations a direct way to support volunteer marine search and rescue readiness.
Supporters can contribute through community donations of any amount, or by sponsoring one of three defined equipment tiers:
Tier 1 – Essential Operational Readiness: $500
Supports core personal safety and operational equipment.
Tier 2 – Advanced Operational Readiness: $1,125
Includes Tier 1 equipment, plus additional protective and mission-support equipment.
Tier 3 – Full Operational Readiness: $1,750
Supports a full crew operational readiness package, including personal safety, protective, and mission-support equipment.
Community contributions are also accepted and will be pooled together toward future crew readiness packages.
Supporting Volunteer Crew Readiness
Funding received through the program will be directed toward personal operational gear used by Guardian Marine Rescue crew members. This may include items such as safety lights, rescue tools, marine rain gear, gloves, gear bags, dry bags, and other equipment that supports crew safety and readiness.
Equipment packages will be issued to crew members based on operational need, readiness priorities, training status, and organizational requirements.
The goal of the program is simple: to help ensure volunteer crew members have practical, reliable equipment available when the call comes in.
